App and AI tools terms
These terms govern your use of Human Forward's Shopify apps, AI tools, subscription services and community platform. They apply in addition to our website terms. If you use our services on behalf of a business, you agree to these terms for that business.
About these terms
These terms are between you and Human Forward LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17452304 with its registered office at 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA. They apply when you install one of our Shopify apps, use our AI tools, subscribe to one of our services, or run a community on our platform. Services below means all of these.
They work alongside:
- Our website terms, which cover use of humanforward.io
- Our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these terms
- Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy
- Our Data Processing Agreement, where a Service handles personal data on your behalf
- Shopify's own terms, which apply to anything you do in Shopify. Our apps are not provided by Shopify, and Shopify is not responsible for them
- Any order form, proposal or statement of work we agree with you. If that document conflicts with these terms, that document wins for the work it covers
You accept these terms by installing an app, clicking to accept, approving a charge in Shopify, signing an order form, or using a Service. You accept the current version again each time you approve a charge or start using a new feature. Anyone who uses a Service through your store or account is treated as authorised by you. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. These terms prevail over any terms in a purchase order or other document you send us.
Eligibility and accounts
The Services are offered to businesses and for business use only. By installing an app, creating an account or buying a plan you confirm that you are at least 18, that you are acting in the course of a trade, business, craft or profession and not as a consumer, and that you have authority to agree to these terms for the business you represent. If that is not the case, do not use the Services.
You are responsible for everyone who uses the Services through your account or store, for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Tell us straight away at hello@humanforward.io if you think your account has been compromised.
You must give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
Licence and access
We grant you a limited, non exclusive, non transferable licence to use the Services for your own business during your subscription, subject to these terms and the Acceptable Use Policy. We may revoke it if you breach these terms.
We may update, add to, change or remove features, limits and free tiers at any time. Changes to free Services take effect immediately. Where a change materially reduces what a paid plan does we will give reasonable notice. Early access and beta features are provided as they are, may be withdrawn at any time, and carry no warranty or service level.
Subscriptions, fees and billing
Fees for our Shopify apps are billed through Shopify Billing in the currency and at the price shown in the app. By choosing a paid plan you authorise Shopify to charge your Shopify account at the start of each billing period. Shopify's billing terms apply to those charges.
Fees for the web version of our apps and for Human Forward Plus are billed through Stripe, in the currency and at the price shown on the Plan page, using the payment method you choose at checkout. By choosing a paid plan you authorise us to charge that payment method at the start of each billing period, and on a plan change for the prorated difference.
Fees for other Services are set out in your order form or proposal and invoiced by us. Unless the order says otherwise, invoices are payable within 14 days.
Our Purchases and Refunds policy at humanforward.io/purchases says how to cancel and when a fee is refunded. It forms part of these terms.
- Prices exclude VAT and other taxes, which you pay where they apply, and exclude any fees Shopify, Stripe or an app store charges you
- Subscriptions renew automatically each period until cancelled
- You can cancel an app subscription at any time by uninstalling the app or choosing the free plan. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then
- Fees already paid are not refundable except as the Purchases and Refunds policy says, where the law requires it, or where we have agreed otherwise in writing
- Usage outside the fair use limits in the Acceptable Use Policy is charged at our standard rates, which we will tell you before or when we apply them
- We may change prices with at least 30 days notice. The new price applies from your next renewal after the notice period
- If a payment fails or an invoice is overdue we may suspend the Service until it is paid. Overdue invoices carry interest at 8% a year above the Bank of England base rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, and you pay our reasonable costs of recovery
- You must pay in full without set off, deduction or withholding
- Free tiers are provided at our discretion and may be changed or withdrawn at any time
Usage and excess charges
Every plan, including any plan described as unlimited, is subject to the fair use limits in the Acceptable Use Policy and to any allowance shown on the plan. We measure usage, and our records are the measure of it. If your usage goes beyond your allowance or beyond fair use we may, at our choice, slow or limit the Service, move you to a plan that fits, or charge you for the excess at our usage rates. Usage rates are published in the Service or notified to you, and we may change them with 30 days notice. Excess charges for app subscriptions are billed through Shopify as usage charges up to the cap you approve in Shopify, and anything above that cap is invoiced by us and payable within 14 days. Excess charges for other Services are invoiced by us. By using a Service beyond its allowance you authorise those charges.
AI tools and outputs
Our AI tools use third party AI models to generate scores, reports, recommendations, content and actions. You understand that:
- Outputs are generated automatically and may be wrong, incomplete, out of date, biased or similar to outputs given to other users. We do not check them before you see them
- A score or recommendation is our assessment at a point in time. We do not guarantee any ranking, visibility, traffic, sales or other result, and we do not control what any AI engine or search engine says about you
- You must review outputs before you act on them or publish them. How you use an output is your decision and your responsibility
- Outputs are not legal, financial, tax, medical or other professional advice
- The AI providers we use may change, and an engine may be unavailable from time to time
- You own the inputs you provide and, as between you and us, you own the outputs we generate for you. We own the Services, our prompts, scoring methods, models and everything else that makes the tools work
- We may use your inputs and outputs to provide the Services, to keep them secure, to enforce these terms and, in aggregated and anonymised form, to improve the Services and for research and marketing
No agent, assistant, connector or other automated feature of the Services has authority to act for Human Forward LTD. Nothing one of them says or does is an offer, an acceptance, a quotation, a price, a discount, a credit, a refund, a promise of a result, a scope of work or any other commitment by us, and none of it forms or varies a contract. A price or term given by an agent is an estimate or an error, not a quote; the prices shown at checkout, in the app store listing or in a written agreement from us are the only prices that apply. If an agent says something inconsistent with these terms, these terms apply. Outputs are information for you to weigh, not a recommendation to take or refrain from any action. You must use your own judgement, check anything material against the source, and take professional advice where a decision warrants it. You rely on outputs at your own risk, and you will compensate us for any claim, loss or cost that arises from your reliance on them, as the Indemnity section sets out.
You must not use the Services or any agent for, or in connection with, health or medical matters, political campaigning or elections, defence, military or weapons matters, surveillance of people, or anything unlawful. The Acceptable Use Policy sets out the full list.
Where a Service includes agents that act on your accounts, for example advertising, email or analytics accounts, the agents act on your authority and within the policies, budgets and limits you set in the Service. You must set those limits before enabling the agents. If you do not, the default limits shown in the Service apply and you accept them. You must keep your own administrator access to every connected account, keep the ability to pause the agents, check the accounts and the agents' activity regularly, and tell us within 24 hours of noticing anything wrong. You are responsible for the connected accounts and everything done in them, including spend within the limits you set, the content published, and any action a platform such as Meta, Google or Klaviyo takes against your account, as if you had done it yourself.
The Services are for their intended use only, as the Acceptable Use Policy describes. Using them to reach the underlying AI models for any other purpose, attempting to reverse engineer, extract or bypass our prompts or safeguards, submitting illegal content, or breaching an AI provider's usage policy is a material breach. We may charge you for the requests involved at our usage rates, terminate immediately without refund, recover our losses and take legal action, and you indemnify us for any claim or cost that results.
Your data and store access
When you install an app you grant it the access scopes shown by Shopify. We only request the scopes a Service needs, and we only use the data for that Service and as our Privacy Policy describes.
Where a Service handles personal data of your customers, members or staff on your behalf, we act as your processor and our Data Processing Agreement applies and forms part of these terms. You are the controller. You are responsible for having a lawful basis, for your own privacy notice, and for any consents you need from your customers, including under Shopify's rules on protected customer data.
You must not give us access to data you are not allowed to share, and you must tell us before connecting any account that holds data about children or special category data.
Where we process personal data on your behalf, our Data Processing Agreement at humanforward.io/dpa applies and forms part of these terms. We keep your data as set out in the Privacy Policy. When you uninstall an app or your subscription ends we delete your store data within 30 days unless we must keep it for billing or legal reasons. We may delete it immediately where we terminated for breach. If you want an export, ask before your subscription ends. We provide exports in a standard format of our choosing, and we have no obligation to keep any data after the deletion date.
Community platform
If you run a community on our platform, the following also applies.
- You are the controller for your members' data and responsible for your community, its members, its content and its rules. The community rules in our Acceptable Use Policy are the minimum. You must publish your own community rules, privacy notice and cookie notice and enforce them
- We are not a party to any contract between you and your members. You handle member complaints, disputes, refunds and claims, and you will compensate us for any claim a member or other third party brings against us arising from your community
- Where we publish a white label app in your name, you authorise us to do so under your developer accounts or ours as we agree, you are responsible for the app store listing content and for complying with the app stores' rules, and we may update the app at any time to keep it working and secure
- Memberships, event tickets and other sales are made by you to your members, on your own Stripe account through Stripe Connect. You are the merchant of record, you set the prices, you handle refunds, disputes, chargebacks and tax, and you agree to Stripe's Connected Account Agreement. We take a platform fee on each transaction as set out in your order form, deducted automatically and not refundable if you later refund the member
- Our fees for the platform, for white label apps and for people on the ground are set out in your order form
- We may suspend or close a community, remove content or remove a member where we reasonably believe the Acceptable Use Policy or the law has been broken, or where safety is at risk, without liability to you
- On termination we will give you an export of your community data in a standard format within 30 days of your request, then delete it. White label apps are withdrawn from the app stores unless we agree a handover
Compliance with laws
You must comply with all laws that apply to your use of the Services in every country where you are established, where you operate, and where your customers and members are. This includes:
- Data protection and privacy law
- Consumer protection, advertising, marketing and electronic communications law
- Law that regulates the use, transparency or disclosure of artificial intelligence, including the EU AI Act where it applies to you
- Intellectual property law
- Export control and sanctions law. You confirm that you, your business and its owners are not on any UK, EU, US or UN sanctions list and are not located in a country subject to comprehensive sanctions
- Platform rules, including Shopify's, Stripe's, the app stores' and our AI providers'
You are responsible for checking that your intended use of our AI tools is lawful where you and your customers are. If it is not, you must not use them. We may withdraw a Service from a country or restrict it where we believe the law requires it, and that is not a breach of these terms.
Nothing in the Services is advice on the law of any country.
Intellectual property
We own the Services, including all software, designs, scoring methods, prompts, documentation, branding and content we create, and all improvements to them. Nothing in these terms gives you any right to them other than the licence above.
You own your store content, your inputs and your outputs. You grant us the licence we need to provide the Services.
If you give us feedback or suggestions we may use them without any obligation to you.
You must not use our name, logo or branding without our written permission, except that you may say you use our Services. We may name you as a customer and use your logo in our marketing unless you ask us not to.
Confidentiality
Each of us will keep the other's confidential information secret, use it only for these terms, and protect it with reasonable care. That does not apply to information that is public, already known, independently developed, or that the law requires to be disclosed. Our paid sessions are confidential and are covered by the mutual NDA we send before each session. This clause lasts for five years after the Services end.
Availability, support and changes
We aim to keep the Services available at all times but do not guarantee it. The Services depend on Shopify, Stripe, app stores, our hosting providers, our AI providers and other third parties that we do not control. Where one of them changes, restricts or withdraws something a Service depends on, we may change, suspend or withdraw the affected feature or Service without liability. We may suspend the Services for maintenance, and will try to give notice and do it outside UK working hours.
Support is by email at hello@humanforward.io. We respond to support requests within two UK working days. Any service levels for a paid plan are in your order form.
We may change these terms. For paid Services we will give at least 30 days notice of a material change by email or through the Services, and if you do not accept it you may cancel before it takes effect. For free Services changes take effect when published. Continuing to use the Services after a change takes effect means you accept it.
Suspension and termination
You may end your subscription at any time as described in the billing section. Client contracts end as set out in the order form.
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately and without liability if you breach these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if your use puts the Services, other users or our providers at risk, if we are required to by law or by a platform, if you do not pay, or if we reasonably suspect fraud or unlawful activity. Fees are not refunded where we suspend or terminate for any of those reasons. We may terminate any Service for any other reason on 14 days notice, in which case we refund any prepaid fees for the period after termination and that refund is your only remedy.
On termination your licence ends, you must stop using the Services, we delete your data as described above, and any fees you owe become payable immediately. Clauses that by their nature should survive, including intellectual property, confidentiality, liability, indemnity and general terms, continue.
Warranties and limits on liability
We will provide the Services with reasonable skill and care. Otherwise the Services are provided as they are, and we exclude all other warranties, conditions and terms implied by law to the extent permitted. In particular we do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error free, that outputs will be accurate or fit for a particular purpose, or that you will achieve any result.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss of profit, revenue, sales, business, goodwill, data or anticipated savings, for wasted spend on advertising or other accounts our agents operate within the limits you set, or for any indirect or consequential loss, however it arises.
Subject to that, our total liability to you for everything arising out of the Services in any 12 month period is limited to the fees you paid us for the Services in that period, or £100 if you only used free Services.
You acknowledge that these limits are reasonable given the price of the Services and the fact that you control how outputs are used.
The cap above is an aggregate cap for all claims of any kind in that period, not a cap per claim. If a Service is not provided with reasonable skill and care, your only remedy is for us to fix the problem or, if we cannot, to refund the fees for the affected period.
Without limiting the above, we are not liable for: anything an AI engine, search engine or other third party says or does about you or your business; the acts, omissions or outages of Shopify, Stripe, an app store, a hosting provider, an AI provider or any other third party; any action a platform takes against your accounts; anything done in accounts you connected, within the limits you set; loss of data you did not export before it was deleted under these terms; or any loss caused by your breach of these terms, the Acceptable Use Policy or the law.
Any claim against us must be started within 12 months of the event giving rise to it, after which it is barred.
Indemnity
You will compensate us in full for any loss, damage, cost, fine or claim, including reasonable legal fees, that we suffer because of: your breach of these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy; your breach of any law; your use of outputs or of accounts you connected; any malicious or unauthorised use of the Services, including any attempt to reach the AI models outside their intended use and any illegal content you submit; your community, its members or its content; any claim that your content or data infringes someone's rights or was provided to us unlawfully; or any claim by Shopify, Stripe, an app store or an AI provider arising from your use. We may take control of the defence of any such claim and you may not settle one on our behalf without our written consent.
General
- These terms, with the documents they refer to, are the whole agreement between us for the Services and replace any earlier discussions. You confirm you have not relied on any statement that is not written in them. Nothing in this clause limits liability for fraud
- You may not transfer or subcontract these terms without our consent. We may transfer them to a buyer of our business or to a group company
- Neither of us is liable for delay caused by events outside our reasonable control, but that never excuses late payment
- During the Services and for 12 months after, you will not solicit or hire anyone we employ, contract or partner with who worked on your account, without our written consent
- If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies
- A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of it
- No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms, and the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 does not apply
- Notices to us go to hello@humanforward.io. Notices to you go to the email on your account or store and are treated as received the next working day
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek an injunction or recover unpaid fees in any court
Contact: Human Forward LTD, 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA. hello@humanforward.io
Market terms: Netherlands
These terms apply in addition to the document above when you are in the Netherlands, and prevail where they differ.
1. Who we are and which law applies
Human Forward LTD is a company registered in England and Wales, with no establishment in the European Union. Our relationship with you is governed by the law of England and Wales. That choice does not remove any protection given by a mandatory provision of Dutch or EU law, in particular the GDPR (in Dutch, the AVG), the Dutch GDPR Implementation Act (Uitvoeringswet AVG), the Telecommunications Act (Telecommunicatiewet) and, if you are a consumer within the meaning of article 6:230g of the Dutch Civil Code (Burgerlijk Wetboek, BW), the consumer law in Books 6 and 7 of the Civil Code (article 6(2) of Regulation (EC) No 593/2008, Rome I). That includes the rules on standard terms and conditions (algemene voorwaarden), with their black and grey lists (articles 6:236 and 6:237 BW). Those provisions prevail.
Provider details (article 3:15d BW). Provider: Human Forward LTD, a company incorporated under English law, registered at Companies House for England and Wales under number 17452304. Address: 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA, United Kingdom. Contact: hello@humanforward.io. Represented by: the directors of the company, as entered in the public register of Companies House for England and Wales under number 17452304: find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/17452304/officers. VAT identification number: we sell mostly to businesses, which account for VAT themselves under the reverse charge (verleggingsregeling). On sales to consumers, our payment providers (Stripe or Shopify) calculate, collect and remit the tax due in the customer's country at checkout on our behalf. No local VAT number is therefore shown here.
Representative in the Union (article 27 GDPR). Human Forward LTD is not established in the Union and is subject to the UK GDPR, which the European Commission has found to provide an adequate level of protection (adequacy decision, renewed in December 2025). We have assessed article 27(2) GDPR. Our processing of personal data of people in the EU is only occasional, is limited to business contact details, account data and publicly available website content, includes no special categories of personal data and no data relating to criminal convictions, and is unlikely to result in a risk to the rights and freedoms of natural persons. We therefore rely on the exemption in article 27(2) and have not designated a representative. We review this assessment as our customer base in the EU grows, and will designate a representative, named here, as soon as the exemption no longer applies. Until then you can exercise any right directly with us at hello@humanforward.io, and our data protection lead responds within the time limits of the GDPR.
2. Personal data in the Netherlands
Supervisory authority. The Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens), autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl. You can complain to it at any time.
Legal bases. The table in the Privacy Policy follows article 6 GDPR: contract (article 6(1)(b)), legal obligation (6(1)(c)), legitimate interest (6(1)(f)) and consent (6(1)(a)) for the newsletter. We send marketing by email only with your prior consent or, if you are already a customer, about our own similar services, provided you were given the chance to object when your details were collected (article 11.7(1) and (4) of the Telecommunications Act). You can unsubscribe free of charge in every message.
Cookies (article 11.7a of the Telecommunications Act). The website uses no cookies or similar technologies that require consent. We measure visits without cookies and without individual identifiers, and Cloudflare Turnstile is strictly necessary to keep the forms secure. If you choose a market yourself, with the market picker or in answer to the prompt asking whether you are in a particular country, we set one first party functional cookie, hf_market. It remembers your choice for a year so we do not ask you again. This cookie is strictly necessary to provide what you asked for (article 11.7a(3)(b)) and does not track you. The suggestion of which market suits you comes from a request to our own server, which reads the country of your IP address; no cookie is set for it. That is why there is no cookie banner. If this changes, we will ask for your consent first.
Transfers. Your data is processed in the United Kingdom, which is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission renewed in December 2025 until 2031. Transfers to providers in the United States rely on the EU to US Data Privacy Framework for certified providers, and otherwise on the Commission's standard contractual clauses. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards.
Retention and rights. The retention periods in the Privacy Policy apply in full. You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. Write to hello@humanforward.io. We respond within one month, which can be extended by two months for complex requests.
3. Payments, prices, VAT and right of withdrawal
On the Dutch pages, prices are shown in euros. Web plans are paid through Stripe, using the payment methods Stripe offers for your purchase: credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Klarna, iDEAL | Wero, SEPA Direct Debit, Bancontact, Revolut Pay or Amazon Pay. Paid sessions are paid by card through Stripe only. Plans for a Shopify store are paid through Shopify Billing, in the currency Shopify shows. Consulting, Agents and the community platform are invoiced in the currency of your proposal and paid by bank transfer.
Prices exclude VAT. If you are a business in the Netherlands, VAT is reverse charged to you (article 12(2) and (3) of the VAT Act 1968, Wet op de omzetbelasting 1968); give us your VAT identification number. If you are a consumer, Dutch VAT is added at checkout and you see the total price including VAT (article 3:15d(2) and article 6:230m(1)(e) BW). Stripe or Shopify calculate, collect and remit that VAT at checkout on our behalf; no registration of our own under the One Stop Shop (OSS) is therefore shown here.
Right of withdrawal. If you are a consumer, you can withdraw from the contract within fourteen days of its conclusion without giving a reason (article 6:230o BW). You do this with a clear statement to hello@humanforward.io or with the model withdrawal form in Annex I, Part B, of Directive 2011/83/EU. The right is lost for a service we have fully performed with your express prior consent, where you have acknowledged that you give up your right of withdrawal once we have performed the contract (article 6:230p(d) BW). It is also lost for digital content not supplied on a tangible medium whose supply has begun with your express prior consent, where you have acknowledged that you thereby give up your right of withdrawal and we have confirmed this (article 6:230p(g) BW). If you buy a plan and start an analysis before the withdrawal period ends, you expressly ask us to start straight away and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is lost to that extent. If you withdraw after that, you pay in proportion for what we have already provided (article 6:230s(4) BW). Separately, our Purchases and Refunds policy gives you, under conditions, a refund of the first month of a web plan if you ask within fourteen days. Businesses have no right of withdrawal. Consumers have the statutory conformity rights for digital content and digital services (articles 7:50aa and following BW). A consumer subscription can be cancelled online in your account, in the same way you took it out, or by a message to hello@humanforward.io (article 6:236(o) BW).
Disputes. If you are a consumer, you can also bring a dispute before the Dutch court for the place where you live (article 18(1) of Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012, Brussels I recast). The choice of the English courts in our terms does not change that (article 19 of that Regulation and article 6:236(n) BW). We are not affiliated with any consumer disputes body, are not obliged to be, and do not take part in alternative dispute resolution (article 6:230m(1)(t) BW). The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025, so no link is given.
4. Language
English governs, except for information the law requires consumers to receive in Dutch; to that extent the Dutch version of this page governs.
