manifesto · why we exist
Brands do not survive on transactions. They survive on people.
Everything we build starts from that one line. Commerce is about to be done by machines on people's behalf, and we think that makes the human part of a brand worth more, not less. Human Forward exists to get brands ready for the first, and to give them somewhere to keep the second.
The shop is moving out of the shop.
For twenty years a brand's job online was to be found by a person with a search box and a cursor. That person is handing the job to an agent. They say what they want, and ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or an assistant with the brand's own name on it finds it, compares it and, more and more, pays for it.
An agent does not browse. It reads. If your store cannot be read, understood and bought from by a machine, you are not in the answer, and no amount of beautiful photography fixes that. This is the biggest change to how things get sold since the checkout button, and most brands have not started.
When the agent does the comparing, only belonging is left.
Agents are very good at price, specification and delivery time. They will compress the gap between you and your competitors to almost nothing. What they cannot do is make someone feel part of something.
The brands that last are the ones people choose on purpose, because of the people around them, the rides and runs and dinners, the group chat, the thing they are part of. Most brands have that community already. It just lives in WhatsApp groups, Strava clubs and Instagram DMs they do not own, cannot see and cannot look after. We think it should come home.
Machines for the machinery, people for the people.
We are not nostalgic. Agents should run the feeds, the checks, the campaigns, the exceptions at three in the morning. We build them, and we let them do the work a digital department used to do, on policy, with a person on the edge cases.
That is the point of the automation: to give the people in a brand their time back for the part only they can do. Knowing the customer. Showing up. Being somewhere real. Human forward is not a slogan about tone of voice. It is the order we put things in.
who we are
Started by one person. Built by a team.
Human Forward was started in London in 2026 by Peter Abidi, after fifteen years running digital and commerce inside brands, from the shop floor to the boardroom. It is not a one person company. Around it is a team of specialists who have built and run digital, ecommerce, growth, CRM and community at some of the world's biggest and most interesting brands, in fashion, sport, luxury, grocery and technology, across the UK, the US, Europe, China and Australia.
We have all sat on the brand side of the table while an agency pitched the future at us. So we built the thing we wished someone had sold us: software that does the work, operators who have done it before, and no theatre. We are small on purpose, we are a Stripe partner, and the apps we ship are on the Shopify App Store and in the Claude, ChatGPT and Muse directories.
what you can hold us to
Plain words
No decks that need a translator. If we cannot say what something does in a sentence, it is not ready.
A person answers
Every email, every message, every piece of client work is read by someone here before it reaches you. The agents are ours to run, and ours to answer for.
Your data stays yours
What we learn about your brand is used for your brand. We do not pool it, sell it, or train on it, and your members keep their own.
